Get Ready To GLOW Again: Netflix Wrestling Comedy Renewed For Season 2

The women of the Netflix series GLOW.

Netflix has renewed the hit comedy series GLOW for a second season. Featuring a largely female ensemble cast headed up by Alison Brie (Community, Mad Men), GLOW was inspired by the 1980’s wrestling show of the same name, which has become a cult classic over the years.

The pilot for the original TV GLOW, on which the new series is based.

The new series is the brainchild of Liz Flahive, who along with Carly Mensch, a former writer for Orange is the New Black, and Jenji Kohan (creator of OITNB) created a full slate of distinct characters to delve into the relationships, training, and conflicts behind the eponymous wrestling show Marc Maron’s character (Sam Sylvia) is trying to put together.

GLOW’s season one pilot.

GLOW currently has a 95% fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes and is likely on its way to a few Emmy nods. Group Halloween costume, anyone?
